Goal

My goal is for all students to feel a sense of belonging at Sea Gate Elementary. I hope to empower students in our Friendship Club to be kind leaders at Sea Gate Elementary, a school where everyone belongs and contributes.

What will be done with my students

This grant would help our student-led "Friendship Club" grow into a School-Wide Friendship Ambassador Program. Over the past two years, a couple of second graders had a vision to create a club to promote friendship and kindness within our school community. Their motto is "Sea Gate Elementary, where everyone is a friend." I could not be more proud of my students. The founder of the club was just recently featured in the Neapolitan Magazine. They have promoted the Buddy Bench, cleaned our playground, taught playground games, completed kindness missions, and are ready to expand the Friendship Club to become ambassadors for our school. With Ambassador Sashes, students will feel empowered as unified leaders to welcome new students to our SGE Family, give tours to new students, guide parents and families at events, and represent our school community as SGE leaders.

Benefits to my students

Friendship Ambassadors are a great resource for their classmates whether students are new to our school, looking to make friends, needing a friend, needing a tour, etc. Friendship Ambassadors are trained on how to approach students who may be left out and find a way to include them in a group. My hope is for this student-run club to impact our school climate in a positive way. Positive school climate and culture are tied to higher and improved attendance rates, test scores, and academic achievement.
Thank you for your consideration for our Friendship Ambassador Sashes.

Budget Narrative

Sallee Promotions quoted me $25 per sash including lettering and colors printed. We would love to order 20 sashes from Sallee totaling $500. With a 6% tax, it would be about $530.00 in total. Thank you for your consideration.
