Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
A Champion for Learning - $200.00
The goal of this grant is to help the entire 5th grade student body practice and master their basic operation facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division). Having these mastered will help the students successfully complete further 5th grade math curriculum content.
Students will have a access to Xtra math, an online fluency practice program. Students will be assessed and receive a placement score and then will be able to practice the facts that they need. Students can set goals and then track their progress to see their growth.
This program will benefit students as this practice will assist them in being successful in more advanced 5th grade math curriculum content such as area and volume, multi-digit division, multi-digit multiplication, fractions, etc. It will also benefit students because the practice can be individualized: it allows for differentiation as to the completion timing, which operation to practice, and separate assessments. Students can work on this program at home and at school. A benefit for teachers is that they will receive a progress report for each student.
The budget of $200 will create a yearly subscription for the two 5th grade math teachers, that together service up to150 students.
