Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 40

Thank you for supporting our classroom and helping us to make learning hands on! We have been able to add fun into each month. We were able to buy owl pellets and the students were able to dig in and learn all about what is inside. They wore goggles, lab coats and gloves. They said, "it was the best day ever." During our math review day we turned the classroom into a glow day. The students then told us, "it was the best day every." As you can see enhancing their learning makes everyday the best day ever! Thank you for making learning so real for us and for them.

Goal

Our goal is to add some fun into each month of our learning.

What will be done with my students

The students will be able to participate in hands on learning with the items purchased for themes each month. For example, September: apples, raft making items, and items for science experiments, October: owls, pumpkins, glow items, November: readers theater dress up items, past and present items, hay and December: baking supplies, and items for tall tales and then so on for each month of school. When the children have their own materials to explore and participate with they are engaged in their learning and excited to be in school.

Benefits to my students

The student benefits are unmeasurable and unforgettable! Everything they learn about comes to life in a real way so that they make life long connections. This type of hands on learning reaches all learners and brings together all subjects. They will be engrossed in reading, writing, science, social studies, and math and be able to take their learning outside the classroom in many ways.
