Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 120

All of the students are very active.  When given an opportunity to move around and complete a learning activity, the students are more engaged.  We were able to use the clipboards to take nature walks and observe parts of nature for Science.  We were able to engage in "Walk The Room" activities for all subjects.  Students were able to "interview" other students .  The students were very happy to have their own "portable" desk to use when opportunities to work away from their desk presented themselves.  It was a very useful tool for  engaging students and they all were used positively and carefully.  The students LOVED it!!!

Original Grant Overview

Goal

Students will be able to discover and add to their knowledge of an academic area as they walk around the classroom and outdoors recording findings or data. 

 

What will be done with my students

Depending on the academic activity, students will be given the opportunity to locate examples of the lesson content, or discover things to add to the content, or even gather in small groups to work together using their clipboards to record their findings and information. 

 

Benefits to my students

The ability to be mobile with a appropriate surface to record data, findings, or ideas on will assist the students in extended and organized work. Providing movement for the students encourages participation and curiosity.  

 

Budget Narrative

The clipboards come in a set of 24. In order to provide one for each student, 6 sets would need to be purchased. This would include some "extras" for incoming students, breakage, etc. Clipboards purchased through Amazon.
