Original Grant Overview

Goal

I will encourage outside of the box thinking to teach and build on the principles of stem and engineering with these explorations and investigations.

What will be done with my students

My student will engage in cooperative learning groups of four to create, talk, build, and explore STEM and STEAM principles of each of these challenges. In second grade, we learn about coding, fairy tales, and SCIENCE! We will have fun making decisions, becoming leaders, and revising our plans to become successful.

Benefits to my students

This promotes critical thinking and innovation in our little learners' minds. This is hands-on learning with real world applications and situations. This will help them practice a variety of skills including language, team work, planning, and execution. The topics are related to second grade curriculum in both literacy and science.

Budget Narrative

We will use the budget for STEM/STEAM activities and challenges from Oriental Trading. It includes 7 different kits that will greatly affect my learners.
