Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 80

Throughout the school year, students with learning disabilities set goals for themselves, such as reducing missing assignments, improving task completion, focusing better in class, studying for tests, and trying their best even on the most challenging of assignments, like the FAST ELA exam they took today.  They set short-term goals that would help them to reach their long-term goals.  For example, a student who was missing 30% of their assignments across 4 core subjects during quarter 1 set a short-term goal of completing 75% of their assignments quarter 2, and 80% quarter 3.  The ultimate goal was 95% of their work complete.  As this student met the short-term goals, their overall effort in the class improved, as did their grade.  The tangible incentives were an added bonus, and much appreciated by this student.
