Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 16

Students are highly engaged while practicing language skills at their own pace. Their lexile and reading comprehension in the English Language is increasing steadily. They are also learning typing skills using games and pre fronted text, which allows them to acquire new grade level vocabulary across the curriculum. We use the ELLII software to celebrate US Holidays and as a means to practice reading, speaking, writing and comprehension. These softwares present multi media tools that elevate their willingness to colaborate, compete, and make discoveries while learning a new language. The Readtheory software is a self pace lexile software, students read to a staff member, look up images for new vocabulary words, annotate and then take a comprehension test using a reading log.

What will be done with my students

"Ellii is a comprehensive digital platform that empowers English language teachers around the world with high-quality content and interactive courseware. Ellii can be easily integrated into an existing curriculum, or it can serve as the enrichment content source of teaching materials that targets language gaps in a interactive and fun way, while using technological advancements, typing skills, and overall critical thinking. 

 

Benefits to my students

Budget Narrative

This grant has been a life saver! As an educator of an array of grades and languages, students work in consensus that allows them to acquire academic and everyday English Vocabulary that leads them to honorable members of the society ; and aids them to immerse themselves in the US culture.
