Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 85

The kindergarten teachers and students at Mike Davis Elementary are appreciative of your generous donations. Because of your kindness, our students were able to have a midmorning snack every day of kindergarten. With the latest lunch, at 12:40, the teachers were concerned that students, especially such young children, would not be able to focus on their work if they got hungry. We were able to purchase goldfish crackers, pretzels, animal crackers and fruit snacks for all Kindergarten students to last the whole year.

The students would munch on their snack as they worked, so no instructional time was used. They look forward to snack time every day. Because they were not hungry, they were able to focus on working hard the whole morning and have become kindergarten superstars!

Thank you for supporting the kindergarten students and teachers at Mike Davis Elementary!

Original Grant Overview

Goal

My goal is to provide a midmorning snack for my students so they don't get hungry.

What will be done with my students

Students will receive a couple of animal crackers, pretzels, or other snack to keep their bellies from rumbling. We don't want our Kindergartners to get hungry. When students are hungry, they have trouble focusing on their learning. With the snacks, we'll avoid that part!

Benefits to my students

The benefit to my students will be that they won't get hungry midmorning and will be able to focus on their learning.
