CITE Solutions LLC - $729.00
With the rapid evolution of 3D printing in industry, education, and among hobbyists, the technology has progressed rapidly with new advancements emerging and becoming the industry standard. Immokalee High School's currently 3D Printers are starting to show their age with respect to print quality, print speed, and reliability. This project will lay the framework for an overhaul of the IHS Engineering 3D Printer Line with the introduction of a Bambu Labs P1S Printer, featuring industry-leading advancements.
Students in the Introduction to Engineering Design course learn the fundamentals of 3D CAD Design with the Autodesk Fusion 360 Software. Students will have the ability to learn and operate the printer after earning their industry certification to 3D print models of their own design. Advanced students in the Principles of Engineering course will learn to design and print high-accuracy components that attach to the ROOTs Manufacturing Arm and its components during the new unit on computer integrated manufacturing.
Immokalee Engineering students will be exposed to cutting edge advancements in 3D printing technology and learn how to maximize this new technology to improve the quality and print speed of parts. Additionally, the integration with the ROOTs manufacturing arm will provide students with practice designing and implementing real-world functional components.
The Bambu Labs P1S printer features several technological advancements such as print bed leveling, AI quality monitoring, and vibration compensation. The printer also is upgradable to allow the purchase of additional components in the future. 3D filament will be purchased using engineering academy funding.
