Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 700

Any student here at PME can have the opportunity to play chess.  We did try to streamline the practice to a smaller group of students who could connect and form friendships from playing the game together.  Students who were emotionally upset could sit with me (the school counselor) as well and talk while playing the game.  It has become a great strategy used to help our students calm down, cope, and build peer relationships. We are extremely thankful for this grant.  Thank you.
