Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 750

Brain Pop Primary and Intermediate played a crucial role in actively building my students' knowledge by encouraging exploration of the world, fostering interaction, and connecting new ideas with existing understanding this year here at Sabal Palm Elementary School. The entire student population of 750 students participated in various learning activities. Previous platforms that aim to provide equitable learning opportunities fall short in addressing all aspects essential for equitable instruction. This has often left teachers to supplement resources and navigate how to effectively utilize these platforms to cater to diverse learners. BrainPOP’s learning platform is amazing and its animated movies, games, quizzes, movie making capabilities served as a powerful instructional tool for engaging students and illustrating complex processes that are challenging to demonstrate in a traditional classroom setting.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

The goal is to purchase a Technology Lab annual subscription to Brainpop and Brainpop Jr to be used with all Sabal Palm students. The Brainpop Suite has been an invaluable educational support tool years past and I wish to continue being able to utilize this online material by purchasing a new subscription. 

 

What will be done with my students

Brainpop and Brainpop Jr offer short educational videos on a variety of topics. There are also extension activities and pintables that go along with each video. All videos come with their own lesson and extension plan which can be used individually, small group or whole class. The Brainpop Suite offers students a different method of instruction that when used correctly is very effective as an educational vehicle which aids and supports teacher lessons. 

 

Benefits to my students

Videos are cross-curricular & are a valuable asset to many introductory & reinforcement lessons.
There are lessons for teachers that link to the academic standards. This Brainpop Suite will help support Technology topics such as Digital Citizenship, Digital Publishing, Internet Safety, Intro to Computer Parts, Coding and Computer Programming in addition to one of our newest Collier County Public Schools initiative Entrepreneurship in 5th Grade.
