Students in the we dine emphasized on spreading kindness not only in the lunch room but in throughout the school day. Students did modeling and role play which eachother to work on techniques to engage and train club members. It was amazing to see the kids interacting in the we dine lunch room and helping new students. All different types of kids, from different ethnic backgrounds to students with varying disabilities were coming together as one. The games and puzzles we were able to purchase with the grant all helped to faciliate this. Our students also sponsored the gift wrapping for our chosen families at christmas time.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

To provide a sense of community and belonging within our student body. Students learn better when they feel connected to their friends and a larger school community. we want all students to feel welcomed and safe and North Naples Middle School.

What will be done with my students

The students will be able to:
Make connections with peers they otherwise may not interact with
Create a positive social atmosphere on our campus
Have a safe haven to go without fear or rejection.
The students will act as ambassadors welcoming students new to our school throughout the year.

Benefits to my students

I plan to have pizzas during our lunch meetings with the ambassadors and also for our new student luncheons which will be done quarterly. I plan to order t-shirts for all We Dine Members to promote unity. $15 a shirt

Budget Narrative

I plan to have pizzas and drinks during our lunch meeting with the ambassadors and then we will do have quarterly new student luncheons. The t-shirts will help promote the We Dine Program and build pride in the program. The games puzzles and chess provide team building opportunities.
