Thank you to the following investor for funding this grant.
Perna-Rose Foundation for Hope - $1,200.00
The goal of this grant is to fund Transition classrooms with traveling to various places in the community to get hands on instruction in leisure activities, as well as educational and vocational training.
Our students will be able to travel outside of the classroom to gain valuable hands on experience through different leisure and vocational activities. They will be able to take part in activities that they typically wouldn't with their families due to the extra support we have with our staff. It's very valuable to teach our young adults appropriate things they are able to do during their free time, as well as applying the skills we've learned in the classroom in public.
The students will be able to apply the skills from the classroom in various types of settings teaching them the appropriate way to interact and behave. They will be able to enjoy experiences such as eating at a restaurant (practice waiting, ordering, table manners, paying the check), bowling (leisure activity-waiting/taking turns, following instructions), and theater(proper theater manners, listening).
The money will go to purchasing the meals, bowling experiences, theater tickets, and other various activities we do.
