Wow! What a hit these seats have been! Students are coming in to spend their recess reading just so they can relax and sit on these chairs. Anytime there is something new the students get excited. It thrills me to know that these seats are motivating my students to relax and read more. The best part is that they can be used for years to come.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

To give my students a comfortable place to curl up and enjoy a great book

What will be done with my students

Students will have the opportunity to choose a seat and find a corner in the media center where they feel they can relax and read. It is a nice change from sitting at a table or in their classroom.

Benefits to my students

The chairs feature cushioned back supports that adjust to the perfect position and when done students can just lay them flat for convenient storage.
Removable covers are machine-washable so I can make sure they are always clean and ready for my students.

Having unique seating helps motivate my students to read longer.

Budget Narrative

These seats will be used for years to come so they will be used by many more students than are currently enrolled.
