We want our students to become leaders within our school and throughout our community. Our goal through this Student Leadership Club is to create ways for students to strengthen their writing and creativity. Students will also create letters for teachers and peers to celebrate their success throughout the school year. We will also establish a local partnership so the students can extend their creations to others outside of our school.

Goal

We want our students to become leaders within our school and throughout our community. Our goal through this Student Leadership Club is to create ways for students to strengthen their writing and creativity. Students will also create letters for teachers and peers to celebrate their success throughout the school year. We will also establish a local partnership so the students can extend their creations to others outside of our school.

What will be done with my students

We will have monthly meetings with our students to design and create different letters/cards. Students will be taught to use an electronic cutting machine and have their creative ideas turned into letters/cards for all occasions. Through our monthly meetings, students will get to collaborate with peers from all grade levels and create themed cards based off their ideas. Our leaders will be responsible for passing out the cards, allowing them to see the joy they bring to others.

Benefits to my students

This program will benefit students in multiple ways. It will assist our students in becoming leaders and take ownership in their school and community. It will help our students become caring, kind, and compassionate members of their community and school. It will also serve as a foundation for them to offer their skills to others in the future. Providing this opportunity will allow us to foster students to have goals to achieve.

Last year we did a soft launch of this Leadership Club and students started by making cards for birthdays. After several meetings, they decided to make cards for our graduating 5th graders. They took such pride and ownership in what they created and the graduating 5th graders were so thankful to be recognized.
