Aprons are part of the basic protective gear to have in a lab. Unfortunately, they wear out, get holes in them and kids rip the string ties off because they tie them in a know and can't figure how to get them off. We were very appreciative of the new aprons for doing labs. Parents spend a lot of money to buy school uniforms and prefer that students not stain them at school. Students that are afrad of ruining their clothes are less enaged in teh activity. We do many labs in life science that involve messy dyes and animal dissections. Students were fully engaged doing the frog dissections with their clothes safe.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

The goal is to provide students with protection for their clothes whiles doing hands on labs that might otherwise damage, stain or ruin their clothes.

What will be done with my students

I often do labs in my class with my students that involves the use of food coloring or dead frogs. The aprons would provide a protective barrier for their clothes.

Benefits to my students

Students will be able to participate in the messy labs without fear of ruining their clothes. The water proof aprons will protect their clothes from getting wet, stained or ruined. Being water proof and washable, the aprons can be re-used for many labs.

Budget Narrative

The money will be spent on 3 sets of 12 aprons. This will provide enough aprons for an entire class.
