A Champion For Learning - $534.36
To provide two safe, high-quality, durable, and easy-to-set-up beginner basketball portable hoops for the students at Mike Davis Elementary to enjoy during Physical Education classes.
Basketball is a unit covered in elementary physical education classes. Some of the skills taught to students are dribbling, passing, and shooting. The basketball nets on the hard court are great for intermediate students but are too high for those students in the primary grades. At only four feet tall, these beginner-friendly basketball goals would be a great asset for introducing the game to younger students. These goals would also be beneficial to older students to set up and use under the pavilion when weather conditions do not permit classes to be out on the court or for use with smaller, targeted skills and drills.
When teaching students basketball in P.E. specific skills are taught. Playing any sport is more fun when students are able to successfully complete sport specific skills. These beginner nets would set students up for success when learning specific basketball skills, such as shooting, and help in providing a strong foundation for the game. Basketball is one of the most demanding sports when it comes to cardiovascular conditioning, and it’s an entertaining form of exercise for many children. These goals would make basketball accessible for all students, especially those in the primary grades.
This project will benefit all students at Mike Davis Elementary. We are requesting $534. 36 for two Beginner’s Basketball Portable Hoops. This is a loved game among students and portable hoops will be enjoyed by all students for years to come. The requested amount includes shipping and taxes.
