Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 300

We introduced the book series today with a book tasting in the media center. Students were introduced to the biography genre and the Ordinary People Change the World book series. The series was met with grand reviews and excitement. Several students wanted to know when they could check the books out and read them, they were intrigued with the premise that all these characters started out as kids, just like them. One student even suggested that one day I may have a book about them in my library!

The teachers were enthusiastic that we now own these books and will be using this series for research projects later in the year.

My goal is supply Brad Meltzer's Ordinary People Change the World book series to our students. These books promote the power and potential in all students.

What will be done with my students

These books will be promoted and targeted to lower level reader to build confidence and inspire leadership. These books inspire kindness and compassion, while exposing students to historic figures as children, helping students realize these heroes were once just like them!

Benefits to my students

The mission of these books is to provide better heroes for out students. In a culture that places more importance on celebrity status than character, "These books are our way of fighting back, to help kids build character, kindness and compassion, one real hero at a time."
