Goal

The goal of this grant is to purchase books to read-aloud to all of the 4th grade students throughout the school year. We would like to be able to purchase 3 sets of books, 1 for each ELA teacher (including IBI teacher).

Category

School-Wide, Grade-Level, Or Class Events/Programs - Parent Nights, Honor Roll Celebrations, EOY Events, etc.

What will be done with my students

Each 4th grade teacher will read 1 chapter a day from a previously chosen book. The teachers will all be reading from the same book and creating activities to go along with the books. For instance, after reading "Lemonade Wars" students will make and sell lemonade as a fundraiser.

Benefits to my students

These read-alouds will encourage students to read on their own, develop a love of reading, and learn about different genres. The teachers will be displaying their own love of reading and sharing this with the students. Reading encourages students to build a successful future!

Budget Narrative

Grant request is for 3 of each book. I multiplied the cost of the book from Amazon by 3 and entered the amount. The total cost will be $353.
