Goal

My goal is for students to have an easier, more efficient way to organize all their portfolio work.

What will be done with my students

As a Leader in Me school, all our students in grades K-5 create Leadership binders each year. It is divided into sections and students choose pieces to put in the binder. They place work samples, accomplishments, and many goals and data trackers into this binder. It is a big part of them as a student and something they are very proud of.
These binders are part of their student-led conferences that they have with their families. Many of the papers they put into the binder require hole punching. The manual hole puncher that we have in the classroom can only handle a few pieces of paper at a time. It also jams up frequently and in turn rips the students' papers. Having 20 students in a class that all need to hole punch their work at the same time becomes very time consuming. 

Benefits to my students

Having an electric hole puncher would make organizing our Leadership binders a lot more efficient. Students would be able to hole punch a bunch of their work at one time rather than a few papers at a time. This would allow us more time to focus on organizing our binders and sharing our binders.
