Goal

To use the secret stories alongside our district phonics program Fundations to provide a fun and lively way to remember letter sounds, diagraphs and vowel combinations.

Category

Learning Aids - Sunshine state book sets, robotics kits, puzzle boards, science models, engineering supplies, etc.

What will be done with my students

The students will hear stories about letters, vowel combinations, sneaky e, diagraphs and all the other phonics knowledge they need to help them "crack the code" to be able to read a word through mnemonics tools. These mnemonic tools will help them be able to read a word. The students will also be singing songs to automate sound spelling and using mnemonics sound posters to help them remember the different sounds that letters make when they get together. It will make phonics fun and engaging.

Benefits to my students

The benefit to students is that they learn about phonics in a fun way that goes along with the science of reading and research about how our brain remembers things.
