My goal is to celebrate the victories that our students earn all school year. Some are winners of KINDNESS challenges, some are winners of musical challenges, some are on the debate team, the Scholar Bowl team, the volleyball team, etc. I want these students to feel special enough to want to continue bringing success to themselves (most of all), and to our school. I want students to believe that the extra practice or effort they put forth will be rewarded in the end. I want to lift their self-esteem as well as their desire to continue.

Category

School-Wide, Grade-Level, Or Class Events/Programs - Parent Nights, Honor Roll Celebrations, EOY Events, etc.

What will be done with my students

When students are recognized for anything that goes beyond the ordinary that is expected of them, I want to celebrate them by a special meal such as a pizza party, a special drink that they would enjoy, a small gift of some sort, t-shirts, etc. Whatever that particular group would enjoy, within reason, would be my quest.

Benefits to my students

There is such a lack of apathy among many students today, that I believe if more students saw the MATH COUNTS team or Spelling Bee winners, for instance. getting some small recognition that we would have more entrants and more students striving for higher goals. We are fortunate to have teachers who promote and encourage those events, but the names are announced, and that is it as a rule. I want to make the students feel special.

Budget Narrative

I am guessing at what students may enjoy for honor rewards so these columns may be mixed up a bit, but generally it covers breakfast treats, lunch treats, shirts, flowers, balloons, etc.
