Goal
Our 2nd grade goal is to be fluent in addition and subtraction facts by the end of the year. My plan is to incorporate games during Fluency Workshop Days to enhance learning with hands-on experiences. I would also like to have magnetic materials for my whiteboard that correlate with manipulatives the students already have on hand for improved learning.

What will be done with my students
There are a wealth of games that can be played with both dominoes and playing cards to enhance the learning experience. These activities can be differentiated to meet the needs of all learners. In addition, having XL magnetic number lines, 10 frames and hundreds charts on the whiteboard will make it easier for students to follow lessons and become familiar with number sense and addition/subtraction concepts during unit lessons.
Benefits to my students
CCPS has incorporated fluency workshop days into our curriculum calendar. Having the cards and dominoes will allow for collaborative work among students, enhance learning and give them foundational skills they can carry with them for future math success.
