Goal

My goal for this funding is allowing students to have more access to learning about the art world through books on artist. These books include "how to draw" lessons, Artists and sketchbooks for students personal use.

Category

School supplies - Markers, paints, paper, crayons, clay, pencils, sharpies, modeling dough, etc.

What will be done with my students

This easier access to books with a moving bookshelf allow students to grab a book when they finish early on a project. Students can grab a book on "how to draw", this breaks down step by step something they are interested in drawing all on their own. These books will also give students a chance to be read aloud too. Now a days books are being replaced by technology and videos of another teacher reading to our students. I want to be the teacher reading this fun art books to my students.

Benefits to my students

I have noticed in the past my students love looking through books and picking out something they love to draw and learning how to draw it on their own, step by step. These books will be filled with their favorite characters, known artist, along with how to draw self portraits. A lot of my students struggle with self portraits and books will help them break down step by step and find their style, maybe anime or realistic. The benefits toward classroom sketchbooks also gives students a chance to hold onto their artwork through out the year and see their progress for themselves. Since usually a teacher notices through out the year and not the students. The rolling book shelves will be perfect in my art room, I can have the books out during certain projects and grade levels or roll them off so younger students can't touch them.
