It is my goal that the students within the Leadership Club of "Beyond Beading Bracelets" will have the opportunity to synergize and create personalized or inspirational beaded bracelets on specific Leadership Club Days. These bracelets that are created will then be bagged and labeled with a welcoming note written by the students. We then plan on giving the inspirational bracelets as a welcome gift to new students that enroll throughout the school year.
The students will also create bracelets that will be donated to local shelters or children's hospitals to give to children in hopes of being able to spread joy to other in difficult situations.

What will be done with my students

Students at Lavern Gaynor Elementary school get to participate in a wonderful program that encourages student voice and teaches students that every person is a leader. As part of student voice, students are asked to choose from a variety of options of a Leadership Club that interests them the most. These clubs meet monthly for an hour of the school day and get to participate in exciting and fun activities to promote the need of a balanced lifestyle.
Many students have expressed the interest in creating bracelets of many varieties; therefore, the Leadership Club of "Beyond Beading Bracelets" was born! Students get to do what they love and show off their creativity and skill while also gaining the insight of the importance of giving back to the community.
Students will be given many different supplies to create bracelets of many kinds: rubber band, beaded, jeweled...etc. and during our time together as a Leadership Club, will put their love into creating beautiful bracelets.
Students will synergize to decide on a logo sticker for these bracelets as well as write a short but heartfelt note to be included within the gifted bracelet.

Benefits to my students

The students participating in this Leadership Club will benefit greatly from creating the bracelets. Not only will they be able to use and display their creativity by creating beautiful works of art; but they will also benefit in the bigger picture, for they will have a greater purpose. By integrating a service project within the bracelet making process, students will have the opportunity to volunteer their time and effort in paying it forward and doing something out of the goodness of their hearts. Students will have the opportunity to feel as if what they are doing is making a difference in the lives of other children. These students will have the ability to learn that even though they are elementary school, that they still have the ability to do good and pass on kind acts to others that may need uplifting in a difficult time. Students will be gifting the bracelets to new students at Lavern Gaynor Elementary, welcoming our newest sea turtles to our bale. They also will be donating bracelets to a local shelter or children's hospital, in hopes of lifting spirits of strangers the same age as them. These random acts of kindness will be so beneficial in growing great leaders as well as building character by passing along such positivity.
