Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 325

Our fulfilled grant let us purchase more robots for our robotics classes. We purchased more Oobots and Dash robots so our students could work in smaller groups. This allowed more one on one with coding and working with the robots. We were also able to purchase a Dash robot comeptition mat. This allows our students to compete with their coding and creativity during class projects. Our students are extremely excited to come code their robots during their robotics class! Thank you for having a HUGE positive impact on our school.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

Our goal is to have students from Pk3 through 8th grade have access to robots and learn to code.

Category

Learning Aids - Sunshine state book sets, robotics kits, puzzle boards, science models, engineering supplies, etc.

What will be done with my students

We have a new STREAM/Robotics program that is being integrated this year. We see students from Pk3- 8th grade. Students will be using robots throughout the entire year to learn coding, as well as cross-curricular activities. They will be creating a story for their robots to play out. They will be using their robots in science to tell their class about the sun, earth and moon rotations. They will be learning shapes and having their robots create the shape of the week. These are just a few projects our students will be using the robots for.

Benefits to my students

All 325 students and all grade level teachers will benefit from the robots. The classroom teachers and the robotics teacher plan together. Robotics class is an extension of the classroom. After the students learn the basic coding functions, they will be completing projects about topics they are learning about in their classroom.

Budget Narrative

The Ozobot Evo kits and Ozobot Color Coding markers are for our K-2 grade classes to start to learn the ideas of coding and robotics. The cost associated with Ozobot is $1,448.00. The DASH Robots and Competition Mat are used in our 3rd-5th grade classes. They will continue their learning of coding, building and robotics competition. The cost associated with DASH is $485.94. Our 6th-8th graders will use a combination of the Ozobots and DASH robots throughout the year. Out Pk3-K will use the Lydaz number bots to help to learn and review numbers while getting aquatinted with robots. The cost for the Lydaz number bots is $59.97.
