Goal

My goal for this grant is to update my classroom's flexible seating and silent fidget options. These tools aid in student engagement and self-regulation while decreasing disruptive behaviors. With materials such as Wobble Cushions, Yoga Seats, Sensory Stickers, and Squeeze Stress Balls, my students will have the opportunity to productivity move their bodies while engaging their minds.

What will be done with my students

Through the use of these mindfully designed materials, students will have access to various nontraditional seating options and hand-held fidgets. With well established classroom procedures and expectations, students will be able to chose a tool to aid in their learning experiences. The various seating and fidget possibilities will allow students to be comfortable and active without disrupting the learning environment.  

Benefits to my students

Flexible seating has been proven to increase student engagement and motivation while improving focus and concentration. Giving students choices in the classroom allows for ownership in their education. Fidgets provide opportunities for self-regulation by keeping fingers busy, bodies relaxed, and minds focused.  

Budget Narrative

The $492.91 will be used to purchase four wobble stools,
eight wobble cushions, sixteen soft cushions, and six different fidget options, as well as the cost of taxes and shipping.
