Goal

My goal is to establish routines and give students a place to access materials they need quickly without having to disrupt the class.

Category

School supplies - Markers, paints, paper, crayons, clay, pencils, sharpies, modeling dough, etc.

What will be done with my students

Each student will be issued a seat sack that will go on the back of their classroom chair. They will be taught which materials will be placed in their seat sack for daily instruction in the classroom. They will be used to store some of the following items: FUNdations notebooks, writing notebooks, math & science workbooks, and dry erase board.

Benefits to my students

The seat sacks will be placed on the back of the students' chairs where they can easily access their materials. Using seat sacks will allow me to teach and reinforce organization skills explicitly. I can model and provide guidance on how to use the sacks effectively, which will benefit my students beyond the classroom setting.
Students can personalize their seat sacks with their names and decorations, fostering a sense of ownership over their space in the classroom. This personal touch can enhance their engagement and connection to their learning environment.
The seat sacks will also reduce the amount of time it takes to pass out supplies and collect them. Therefore, it will increase instructional time while students are comfortable and organized.

Budget Narrative

I will purchase a class set of reusable seat sacks. Sacks I have used previously, I used for about 4 - 5 years. This grant will benefit more students in years to come.
