Goal

The goal of the collaborative 6-8 grade art project is to help children see the magic that happens when kids work together in group art projects. One of the Art Departments campus beautification initiatives is to paint the campus wall with student design and painted murals that will last years.

Category

School supplies - Markers, paints, paper, crayons, clay, pencils, sharpies, modeling dough, etc.

What will be done with my students

The students during art class will come up with ideas for image that can use the technique of "mural painting" to line the walls of the school as a permanent art installation. The students will learn and be involved with all the decisions and process of designing, creating, and the installation of the murals.

Benefits to my students

Murals are a Form of Communication. Art projects come and go. Murals are here to stay. They are a legacy, a means for students, staff, and stakeholders to communicate from generation to generation. Murals are an artistic dialogue serving to provoke and inspire present and future student populations. Murals speak to school bodies.

Budget Narrative

The supplies will be purchased from amazon and will be reused the following year.
