Goal

A Sphero is a robotic spherical device controlled by a smartphone or tablet connected to Bluetooth. At first, this device was created for play, as it was similar to a remote control car. Now, however, they are used in classrooms around the world to explore STEAM concepts, art, math. coding, and programming.
OMS staff and students will have access to Spero to use in their classrooms and after school programs.

What will be done with my students

The students of every age LOVE Sphero. The number of educational applications assist students learn math skills and running a business. The coding game is for all grade levels to code through an adventure or code to make music, art and games. OMS staff and students will have access to Spero to use in their classrooms and after school programs. 

Benefits to my students

Students will be engaged while coding. It will give them a hands on opportunity to manipulate and code. Regardless of interest, there is something for ALL. They can jam and make music, they can make a pizza and work on math. They can create words and math facts. They can work through puzzles, and code their way through adventures. They can even put their drawings into the game.  

Budget Narrative

Thank you for considering funding OMS with 8 of the Sphero BOLT. It's my hope to continuing the grant efforts and be able to increase our: Sphero BOLT+ Coding Robot - BOLT+ Power Pack & Space/Soccer Code Mat (15 robots) which is a total of 3678.00.
