What will be done with my students

Students in 2nd -5th grade will be able to apply to participate in a sewing club at Tommie Barfield Elementary School. We will teach students the basics of hand sewing (without a machine) and allow them time to be creative.

Benefits to my students

I would like to give students an opportunity to learn a life skill, it also allows students time to be creative while learning about a trade.

As a give back to our school, students in this club will give back to our community by sewing items that students can use in calming corners around our school.

Budget Narrative

The materials listed above would be the materials needed to start the club. Some items like the tapestry needles and needle threaders can be reused. The felt, thread and fiber fill would be a student consumable depending on what they choose to design and create.
