Students will be given a choice of two meals to cook. They will "vote" on the meal of their choice. The meal with the highest votes wins. As a class, we will go over the ingredients using pictures and create a grocery list using pictures. Since my students are non-verbal, pictures will be given to them on our weekly trip to Sams Club. Each student will be responsible for picking out at least one ingredient for the meal. Students will be on a rotation and each week different students will help in the kitchen. Specifically, students will work together, with assistance to prepare/cook the meal. Students will learn how to properly and safely use kitchen appliances as well as how to clean up after the meal. Picture recipes will be given to the students cooking in the kitchen.
