This proposal seeks funding to provide reinforcement snacks for students with emotional and behavioral disabilities (EBD) as part of our specialized intervention programs. While our team of intervention therapists is deeply committed to these students' success, we currently fund many activities, including Fun Fridays, level ceremonies, and lunches for class completion, out of our own pockets. Unfortunately, this has left us without resources for basic reinforcement snacks, which are essential to the success of our program.

What will be done with my students

Simple snacks, given as rewards, are a highly effective form of reinforcement that can make a substantial difference in student motivation and engagement. We also have a class pet that we use to help teach the students responsibility and emotional regulation. This pet requires significant funds to support. Funds will also help to support our Fun Friday rewards for students who earn it and our level-up ceremonies.

Benefits to my students

Our special programs cater to students with significant emotional and behavioral challenges, often requiring individualized support and interventions. Positive reinforcement is a cornerstone of our approach, as it encourages desired behaviors and helps students build self-regulation and social skills. Simple snacks, given as rewards, are a highly effective form of reinforcement that can make a substantial difference in student motivation and engagement.

Budget Narrative

We are requesting funds to support snacks, Fun Friday activities, and Level Up celebrations for our special education students.

Snacks: $1,000

To provide nutritious snacks during school hours, ensuring students remain energized and focused. This includes a variety of options catering to dietary needs and preferences.

Fun Friday: $500

For weekly enrichment activities designed to build social skills and provide recreational enjoyment. This budget will cover materials, games, and supplies to create engaging and inclusive experiences.

Level Up Celebrations: $300

To recognize and celebrate individual student achievements with awards, small gifts, and event materials. This encourages motivation and acknowledges progress in a meaningful way.

To maintain a classroom pet. The pet will support learning in biology and responsibility, and enhance students' emotional well-being.

Overall, this budget will enhance the educational experience by promoting well-being, motivation, and a sense of accomplishment among our special education students.
