To create greater choices of high interest non-fiction books for my students in my classroom library.
Other -
By buying high-interest, non-fiction books for my classroom library, I will encourage my students to read all different types of text. When students have extra time, they want to go choose a book, but sometimes don't want to start a novel if they are in the middle of one already. If they are provided with non-fiction text, they can read a section in a small amount of time. I will also display 4 books on book stands on top of the books shelf with recommendations written by the students to entice new readers.
Many kids need support with comprehending non-fiction text and by having them read books that they like, they will practice during their independent reading time. Students will love these books and will be more encouraged to read and learn about all different topics. These amazing books will not only benefit my current 4th graders but my future classes for years to come.
Books and book sets and 4 books stands to display books and book recommendations written by students.
