What will be done with my students

Introduction to Pottery Techniques: Students will be introduced to the basics of pottery, including an overview of tools, materials and techniques.
Design and Creativity Lessons: Students will focus on design principles, where they will be encouraged to sketch and plan what their pottery piece is going to look like. They will explore different textures, patterns and glazing techniques to enhance their creations.
Hands-on Pottery Sessions: With the prepared slabs, students will use molds, templates and free-form techniques to create their pottery pieces. They will also be using the proper vocabulary terms such as slip and score when attaching pieces together. Students will also learn about the glaze application and firing process.

Benefits to my students

1. Enhanced Creativity and Self-Expression: The slab roller will enable students to experiment with different forms and designs, fostering creativity and allowing them to express their individuality through their pottery.
2. Development of Fine Motor Skills: Working with clay and pottery tools will help improve their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
3. Increased Confidence and Achievement: As students see their ideas come to life through the pottery process, they will gain a sense of accomplishment and pride in their work. This will boost their confidence and encourage them to take on new challenges.
