The whole-child educational philosophy of Seacrest Country Day School empowers students through academic, social-emotional, and physical learning. This grant proposal requests games, activities, and a set of pedometers to support the heart-healthy curriculum explored through thrice weekly P.E. classes. Through the integration of academic, social-emotional, and physical learning experiences, the Lower School students come to understand a healthy heart is a happy heart.
Physical Education Equipment - Rackets, bats, balls, nets, jump ropes, etc.
February is American Heart Month and along with other schools across the nation, Seacrest Country Day School places extra emphasis on healthy heart habits throughout this month. The requested items provide students with active learning games to support learning about nutrition and fitness that can be reinforced each month of the school year.
When students are equipped with knowledge and experiences at a young age, they are more likely to develop lifelong habits geared to maintain healthy and happy hearts. The items requested in this grant proposal can be used with all Lower School students and support the physical education curriculum and goals and Seacrest Country Day School's commitment to the whole-child educational philosophy.
The requested items will be purchased by Seacrest through School Specialty and Gopher Sport via purchase order utilizing grant funds. The purchased items will be tax-exempt.
