VEX Robotics Competition
Other -
I work at the administration building for Career and Technical Education and provide support to our engineering high school and middle school teachers. Students will compete in the VEX Robotics Competition. All engineering programs at each high school are required to participate. Teams are chosen at each school and compete against all other high school teams for the win. Some of the high schools will also compete in state competitions which we host at Immokalee High School.
We do not have funding to provide lunch for our students. We will need to provide lunch for at least 2 competitions.
Students participating in this competition benefit in many ways:
* Engages students in the science, technology, engineering and math
* Students work on creative solutions to difficult problems
* Students learn how to work as a team and build communication, and time-management skills
* Students boost self-esteem and leadership skills
* Students learn programming skills
Last year's lunch cost $630 from Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen in Immokalee. Students, teachers and support staff are included for lunch.
