What will be done with my students

Every Wednesday, our counselors will feature mini-lessons on Character Education Traits during the school news broadcast. Each month, teachers will have the chance to nominate one student who exemplifies these traits. At the end of each month, I will host a special celebration to honor these students. During the event, students will be recognized for their achievements and will enjoy food and drinks with their peers. Additionally, each student will receive a laminated certificate and a small prize, such as lanyards, school supplies, fidget toys, or bracelets.

Benefits to my students

The initiative benefits students by boosting motivation and self-esteem through public recognition of their positive behaviors. It supports character development by regularly highlighting and rewarding the demonstration of key traits, which enhances classroom dynamics and promotes a respectful environment. Celebrations foster a sense of community and belonging, inspire peers to adopt positive behaviors, and provide opportunities for social interaction. Additionally, the initiative acknowledges and values students’ efforts, reinforcing the importance of embodying these traits in their daily lives.

Budget Narrative

The Falcon of the Month project aims to allocate approximately $5.00 per student recognized. With an average of 25 to 35 students nominated by their teachers each month, this budget allows for flexibility in organizing themed celebrations such as ice cream socials, hot cocoa gatherings, or pizza parties. The $5.00 per student allocation will cover the cost of these events and also provide a small keepsake for each student. This approach ensures that we can celebrate student achievements in a memorable and engaging manner while staying within budget.
