Goal

To provide pristine firing equipment for our high performing Ceramics students.

What will be done with my students

After many years of wear and tear on our current kiln shelves, we no longer have enough unblemished shelf space to fire the high-quality wares produced by our advanced students.

Benefits to my students

Students will retain control of their finished artworks without fear of damage to wares from our current shelving.

Budget Narrative

Highly specialized projects for advanced students, such as the Piercing Project and Sgraffito Project, Bookends, and Effigy Vessels, require precision and attention to detail. While our regular kiln shelves are fine for firing beginning students’ work, these pieces are much more sensitive/fragile and need even, unblemished shelves. These shelves would be protected with kiln wash and only used for work requiring this attention to detail.
The Furniture set and additional shelves will provide the necessary space to fire full kiln loads of student artwork.
