Goal
The goal of the Research and Respond Comprehension Center is to help students practice and deepen new knowledge. Students can preview, read and respond to nonfiction stories.
What will be done with my students
The students will read the story by placing the arrows on the features where they appear in the text. The arrows help the students focus on the important content to help increase their comprehension. At the end of the story students respond to follow up-questions that reinforce the text with a write & wipe activity.
Benefits to my students
Students will benefit from this interactive center by identifying critical content. They will also be able to record and represent knowledge as well as reflect on learning.
Budget Narrative
The Research and Respond Center includes 24 tri-fold activity stories, plus 24 corresponding pouches of color-coded arrows that are printed with nonfiction text features from the story. I would purchase this center from Lakeshorelearning.com
