Goal
The goal of this project is to expose and educate the students in my class and the students in the school about different communities of the world, through the Flat Stanley Project. This project offers an award winning site which allows teachers and classrooms to network for the purpose of cultural exchange.
What will be done with my students
Each student will prepare and send a Flat Stanley and create a scrapbook about our community and state. Our package will also include souvenirs from Naples. The "care" package will be sent to our hosting classrooms and visitors. Our class will also be "hosting" visiting Stanleys by taking pictures of them around our school and community.
In past years we have had guests from China and Belgium visit our classroom, brings pictures and gifts to the students.
Benefits to my students
For the past 16 years the Education Foundation has awarded my class this grant. The benefit of this project is geography study, school-wide,( a bulletin board is put up in the school so the school can see where Stanley has traveled to), diversity education through the morning news program about Stanley's travels and learning about the global community.
Help students visit the world!
