Goal

The goal of this grant is to get an iPad for one of our Cambridge teachers. Cambridge is a classroom full of our highest learners at Golden Terrace Elementary. Students had to qualify for the class by excelling in academics. We have written a grant for 5 student iPads for the class and would like a teacher iPad for the teacher so she can send apps and interact with the students on their iPads. 

 

What will be done with my students

The teacher iPad will be used to run programs through our interactive smartboard such as Kahoot, Quizlet, Edmodo, etc. This allows the teacher to roam the room and monitor student work as she controls what is happening on the whiteboard in real time. The teacher iPad will also be used in conjunction with the student iPads to model work samples for research projects, create a small-group work center, and int5roduce students to new innovations such as iMovie. The technology enhancement to education will not only be motivational to students but allow them to cultivate skills that our essential to today's college and career readiness.  

 

Benefits to my students

Students will be able to access electronic resources that come with our district approved series. This includes practice games in Math, leveled readers in Language Arts and Social Studies, and board builder in Science. Students will also be able to conduct independent/group research as well as create a multimedia presentation to demonstrate their findings.  

 

Budget Narrative

An iPadAir 16GB will be bought for a classroom teacher.
