Goal

With this subscription, Immokalee Middle School teachers and students will have access to thousands of videos on Science, Social Studies, English, Math, Arts & Music, Health, & Engineering and Technology. These videos can be used in the classroom or viewed at home to increase student comprehension on benchmark standards.

What will be done with my students

Brainpop videos are funny and entertaining, but most of all, accurate and engaging snippets of video that teach students on various topics.

Incorporating videos into lessons, gets students engaged in the topic, explains information thoroughly, and often addresses misconceptions. The videos are short, to the point, and come with a mini quiz at the end. Together with hands-on learning experiences and the use of technology, Brainpop videos will be a dynamic addition to our teacher tools.

Teachers can either directly video the videos with their class, or students can view videos at home.

Benefits to my students

Research has shown that students using Brainpop have excelled 1-2 grade levels higher than their peers on standardized tests.

“Students in classes using BrainPOP made significant improvements compared to students in classes not using BrainPOP.” Approximately 1,100 students in 46 classrooms in Palm Beach County, Florida and New York City participated in a controlled study of BrainPOP efficacy examining Vocabulary, Language, Reading Comprehension, and Science. ~SEG Research
