Goal
Morning Tubs offer a play-based opportunity for students to explore, create, and communicate. It is non-threatening way to start the day, help reduce the length of your morning routine, get students excited about the day, and encourage collaboration. Students will be able to practice their phonological and phonemic awareness skills.
What will be done with my students
Students will be able to produce words that rhyme, discriminate phonemes in words, segment words, discover syllables in words, and blend onset and rime to make a word. Students will be able to create sentences with their words, and in turn use story cubes to create journal entries.
Benefits to my students
The student impact is developing a better phonological background and phonemic awareness. Students will be able to create stories using their creativity and collaborate with their peers in a fun, and engaging way.
