Goal

To empower student leaders who will become self-reliant, take initiative and provide them with the tools to be effective leaders of their school community.  

 

What will be done with my students

At Eden Park Elementary School, Mrs. Quintana, Coach Miller and Coach Davidson organize and run morning clubs before the school day begins. The clubs include; Pickleball, Workout Warriors, Garden Club, Bobcat Boutique and the 95210 Bobcat Running Club. We have student managers that help us organize and run the clubs. They arrive earlier than the other students to help set up, they assist in walking the students outside and they assist as needed with conflict resolution or any problems that arise. Afterwards they help with cleanup and walking the students back to the school building.
We are asking for funds to enable us to have monthly meetings with the managers where we will cook or provide them with a breakfast. During the meetings we will have discussions about effective leadership, how to be considerate of others, how to express their viewpoint persuasively, how to resolve conflicts effectively and check in with them about problems or successes that they have experienced that month.
 

 

Benefits to my students

The process will help students develop the skills and self-confidence they need to lead their lives and succeed in school and beyond.  

 

Budget Narrative

The monies will cover the cost of food items like pancake mix, syrup, fruit, water, plates, forks etc. Our goal is one meeting breakfast a month. (about 10 meetings total)
