FIND IT FUND IT FLORIDA

Students in grades 3, 4 and 5 (approximately 300 students) will learn about a variety of different artists and art styles. Students will learn how artists use shape and color during the creation of portraits. Students will explore the work of Henri Matisse, Amedeo Modigliani, and Pablo Picasso. The students will study the art periods of Fauvism and Post Impressionism that are related to the artists.
During a series of instruction, students will create portraits based on new knowledge and inspired by the various artists and their styles. Students will be given the opportunity of self-expression when illustrating their own portraits.

Goal

Students in grades 3, 4 and 5 (approximately 300 students) will learn about a variety of different artists and art styles. What will be done with my students

Students will learn about the Art elements of Color and Value when constructing their portraits. Students will obtain new knowledge about Artists such as Matisse, Picasso and Modigliani and Art movements such and Post Impressionism and Fauvism. Students will apply their knowledge as they create their own individual portraits. Each student will create a complete portrait inspired by the artist and their specific style. Students will obtain new knowledge about the elements of art, artists, and artist movements.. Students will use a variety of media to create their portraits.
 

 

Benefits to my students

Students will obtain new knowledge about the elements of art, artists, and artist movements. Students will use this knowledge as they create their individual portraits. Each student will construct their portraits inspired by artists and styles.  
 

 

Budget Narrative

The grant will fund the purchase of markers,tempera paints and brushes for the children to use in the construction of their portraits. The grant will allow the purchase of paper for the children’s’ paintings. The paints, and paper will be purchased from a school supply company.
