Goal

Our classroom has access to some of the best hardware and software from laptops and tablet devices to video production and digital drawing. We are in need of some audio accessories for students to fully utilize our high tech classroom and enhance their learning in a real-world way.  

 

What will be done with my students

Our 8th grade physical science class has many options for learning from creating video responses to digitally drawing models of atoms. Our students come from many different backgrounds and in our classroom we try to provide a level playing field for success. We are in great need of some technology accessories so that students can use all the aspects of our high tech classroom. Our students have access to an online interactive notebook, video production software, translation software for non-English speakers, and Skype (video conference) an expert. The audio equipment requested will allow for students to work on these projects individually and in teams during our class time.  

 

Benefits to my students

More students without internet access or devices (like laptops and tablets) can use the classroom technology in a calm and quite environment while in class with the headphones. The splitters will allow small groups to work together on one device and collaborate without extra noise. Our students who are starting to learn English and 8th grade science can discreetly use our translation software and the audio reading function of our class notebook.  

 

Budget Narrative

The 25 headphones will be used for any students who do not have their own headphones earbuds when they are working in class. The audio splitters will be used so that students can all plug in their headphones to the same device and work together on projects in class.
