Goal
My goal is to introduce all of my students to the SSYRA Junior books for this school year.
What will be done with my students
Every year the state of Florida chooses fifteen picture and easy chapter books to receive the Sunshine State Young Reader Award. These books are great stories that all students grow to love.
When students read three of the books and pass our reading counts tests to show they understand the books they get to vote in a real voting booth for their favorite book!
My goal is for as many of my students as possible to read ALL of the SSYRA Junior books.
Benefits to my students
By reading these specially chosen books my student's reading comprehension and fluency will improve. Students will track the books they've read in their Leadership binders, showing that they read the books and passed the test.

This grant will cover 1 set of SSYRA Junior books (15 books) for our classroom.
