Goal
My goal is to give students an immersive experience when learning science. With VR headsets I can take students on trips from around Earth and Universe. This will make science come alive. The possibilities will be endless from virtual simulations to virtual science labs.
What will be done with my students
Students would be able to use the headsets during a science center. Here they can deepen their knowledge and understanding on key concepts such as astronomy, biology, geology, and much more. Students can simulate items such as dissections, going to another planet, etc.
Benefits to my students
The emphasis of STEAM across the country has created an excitement for integrating technology and science in the classrooms. These students are digital natives and would benefit from a full immersive classroom. The students would benefit academically having a hands on virtual experience. This would be cross curricular as they can also use the headsets for social studies classes.
Budget Narrative
I am requesting 5 headsets to be used as a center for my classes. These headsets can be reused every school year.
