Goal
My goal is to have the kids use technology to create. With the Cricut Maker, they will be exposed to the design process and what role technology can play in making that accessible to them at such a young age.
What will be done with my students
The students will learn to use the Design Space software to create. With the Cricut Maker the students will be able to create from a simple shape on vinyl, cut out their 3D design with balsa wood, engrave on acrylic or metal. The possibilities are truly endless with the Maker.
Benefits to my students
Students will not only be able to create but see their creation come to life. As a Leader in Me school the students can become leaders in the design process. The students can collaborate with others and use their strengths to problem solve during the design process, and again in the build stage of their creation. These are skills that are needed in the 21st century, allowing them to use them at such a young age will prepare them for a promising future.
